Sylvester Lenard Williams passed away on Thursday, 12 January 2023. A Montgomery native, he succumbed to illness in Warner Robins, GA. Sylvester was raised in the Woodcrest community in west Montgomery. He attended George Washington Carver High School where he graduated in 1977.

After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served for eight years from 1981 to 1989. After his enlistment, Sylvester had a long career in operations management for several companies across California, Texas, Alabama, and Georgia.

He is preceded by his beloved brother, Fred. He is survived by his son, Cory (Malaika), daughter, Jasmin, mother, Inell, sister, Josephine Wright (Earl), brothers, Michael (Jaqueline) and Windfred (Shenita), and one granddaughter, Makayla. Left to mourn this loss is a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 27, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of E. G. Cummings Memorial Funeral Home, 1120 Bragg Street, Montgomery, AL 36108 with Rev. Carl Gadson officiating; Elder Charles Varner, eulogizing. The staff of E. G.
