Guest Book

A beautiful person has left this physical world, but his light, love and laughter live on in his daughter, Candace. I feel blessed to know Candace and believe that her enthusiasm for life and learning is something Linwood passed on. His legacy will live on in Candace's warm smile and kind ways. May God hold you in the palm of His hand through this difficult time and always. I believe God is enjoying Linwood's company. Sheri Henderson

I was friends with Cousin Linwood on Facebook where we communicated a lot. Then we had a family reunion and as soon as I walked through the door, the first face ai see was his. It felt like we known each other for years. He was such a sweet, funny man. I am going to miss you so much Cousin Lin. My prayers are with you Cousin Carolyn and Candice. I love you both to life.

Thoughts and prayers to the family of Mr. Lawton. Especially his daughter Candace who I have had the pleasure of knowing since we were kids. Mr. Lawton was always a welcoming and cool presence whenever I was in his company. One of those "older" folks that a young man could just have a regular conversation with. His presence will be missed in the physical form but ever present around us in the spiritual realm. Love and sympathy. -Derek Mitchell

Linwood and I were students at George Washington Carver. He was an impressive student, band member and good friend. We followed each other and stayed in touch over the years. His accomplishments both professionally and personally encouraged me to do more. I send my condolences to his family, our fraternity brothers and friends. God bless you and keep you today and always Gary Dent

I met Lin in 1969 on the campus of Virginia State University where he met and dated my close friend, Carolyn Clark, who he later married. The two of them were a perfect couple from the start, which is evidenced by their many years together. Lin has always been a very nice person, that made a positive impact on the lives of others. Carolyn, Candace, and the rest of Lin's family are so blessed to have had him in their lives. I will keep you in my prayers.🙏🏽 May God bless and comfort you all. Cynthia Brown

Lindwood is cousin to my husband Ernest Tazewell. They talked regularly about the history of African Americans. They shared many moments of joy as they shared this topic. I met Linwood at a family reunio4DSKANn and instantly felt a part of the Lawton family. He and Carolyn treated me as one of their very own. I will always cherish the memory of him in my heart.
