Danielle Charisse Jackson, affectionally known as Danny or Danny J., was born to Darren Jackson and Anna (Williams) Slaughter on April 7, 1991, in Savannah, Ga.

She grew up a military child and relocated to different military posts with her family. Danielle attended schools in Hinesville, Fort Stewart, Valdosta and Locust Grove, Ga. Also, Fort Knox, KY. She transferred from Fort Knox High School in 2006 while in the 9th grade to Luella High School in Locust Grove, Ga. after her father Derrick retired from the U.S. Army. Danielle graduated from Luella High School in 2010. After high school, she attended Georgia Southern University and Kennesaw State University. She graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Communications with a minor in Public Relations. Danielle then continued her education further completing her Master of Science in Nonprofit Leadership and Management in 2016 at Walden University. During the time of her passing, she was pursuing her Doctor of Public Administration degree at Walden University having only four courses left before starting her residency. Her nephews were already calling her Dr. Jackson!

On Friday December 23, 2022, she departed this life in Augusta, Ga where she resided.

Danielle accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of New Testament House of Prayer in Jones, GA and also attended Christ Prayer Deliverance and Outreach Ministries in Allenhurst, GA with her parents growing up. She also attended Divine Faith Ministries in Jonesboro, Ga while living in metro Atlanta.

Danielle had a sweet and humble spirit, was very loving and caring, always willing to help others, loved spending time with her parents, siblings and loved her extended family and friends. She will be missed tremendously by family and friends. Heaven truly gained a beautiful angel!

For the past seven years, Danielle has worked diligently as a civil service employee with the federal government at the Department of Labor and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as an intern, and permanent full-time at the Defense Logistics Agency as a Contracting Officer and most recently the Department of Energy in Aiken, SC. as a Contract Specialist.

Danielle was preceded in death by her grandfathers Willie Williams Sr. and Willie Halsell of Midway, Ga., her grandmother Arvella McGee Jackson and grandfather Willie Lee Campbell of Valdosta, Ga., her uncle Jerry Freeman and Aunt Laverne Hayes of Valdosta, Ga.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted parents Derrick and Anna Slaughter of Locust Grove, Ga, her father Darren Jackson (Kelly) of Valdosta, Ga; two sisters, Portia Kirkland (Matthew) of McDonough, Ga, Mikayla Jackson of Valdosta, Ga; one brother Derrick Slaughter Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.; grandmother, Mamie Halsell of Midway, Ga.; grandfather, Wilbert Slaughter Jr. of Valdosta, Ga.; eight aunts, Patricia Barham (Courtney) of Midway, Ga., Kathleen Williams of Savannah, Ga, Bernistene Roundtree, Mary Lenard, Martha Gresham, Iristene Steward (George), Charlene Battle (Carl) and Shontina Tyler all of Valdosta, Ga.; seven uncles, Willie Williams Jr. of Hinesville, Ga, Gregory Williams (Rhasine) of Newnan, Ga, Harold Williams (Cantina) of Hinesville, Ga, Grady Jackson (Hannah), Tony Jackson (Lynis), Derrick Jackson (Kim) and Russell Jackson (Calandra) all of Valdosta, Ga; five adorable and loving nieces, Aria Slaughter of McDonough, Ga, Blaze Slaughter of Marietta, Ga, Carmyn Kirkland of McDonough, Ga, Maliyah Kirkland and Gabrielle Kirkland of Richmond Hill, Ga; three handsome and loving nephews, Cameron Williams of McDonough, Ga, Cain Council of McDonough, Ga and Christian Kirkland of Richmond Hill, Ga; her loving and devoted godmother Marie Lockett of Hinesville, Ga. and godbrother Anthony Lockett of Coral Springs, Fl.; her best friends since middle school Ashley Thomas and Susan Lee. Danielle also had a host of loving great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, and friends and will be sadly missed by them all!

Celebration of Life: Date: Saturday, January 14, 2023 Time: 1PM Location: St. James Community Center, 1140 Holmestown Road, Midway, GA 31320

Interment Following Funeral Service: Solomon Temple Church of Christ Cemetery.
