Obituary For Larry Gordon May

Larry Gordon May, of Hurst, TX, loving son, family member, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023 at age 63.

Graveside service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 14th, at Salona Cemetery, Lama Rd, in Bowie, TX, with Darrell Brown officiating.

Larry was born on February 19th, 1959 to Joyce Marie (Richardson) and Gordon B May in Bowie, Texas. He graduated from L.D. Bell High School in Hurst before attending Texas Wesleyan University and graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration.

Larry had a passion for baseball. He was the pitching coach for the Texas Wesleyan University team. He went on to manage little league teams in Hurst for almost 20 years. Larry was an avid NASCAR fan and attended many races throughout his life. He loved history and had a particular passion for England. He lived in the UK for around three years. Larry was a regular visitor at Windsor Castle and enjoyed learning about British cuisine and culture. In 2001 he was able to go inside 10 Downing Street, something that not many people in history can say.

Larry was a kind, funny, and smart man. He was a story teller by nature and from the way he lived, he had many stories to tell. Larry enjoyed helping others and his impact on their lives will not be forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his father, Gordon B May. Larry is survived by his mother, Joyce Marie May.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Salona Cemetery at P.O. Box 935 Bowie, TX 76230.
