Mr. Jesse Thomas Sturdivant, Jr.

On Monday, January 2, 2023, God in His infinite wisdom saw fit to choose a precious and beautiful flower, TRUSTEE JESSE STURDIVANT, known to many as Bug, Jesse, Bug Juice, Daddy, Bay, Bro. Sturdivant, Trustee Sturdivant, to be a part of His garden. He gained his wings at the age of 75.

Jesse was born July 9, 1947 in Wadesboro, North Carolina, the son of the late Jesse and Hazel Sturdivant. He was educated in the public schools of Anson County and graduated from J.R. Faison School in 1965.

He accepted Christ and was a faithful member of Divine Unity Church. He attended Church service, Sunday School, Bible Study, Vacation Bible Study, Missionary and Marriage Retreats.

He was united in Matrimony to Jackie Moore and to that union four (4) sons were born: Courtney, Jason, Jestin and Earl. Jackie preceded him in death.

He later married the love of his life, Christine H. Sturdivant on February 5, 2005.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Donald Sturdivant; stepson, Kelvin Harrington; and mother-in-law, Lillie Ingram.

Left to cherish his precious memories are his loving, devoted, faithful caregiving wife of 17½ years, Christine Sturdivant; five sons, Keith (Candace) Marshall, Courtney (Tara) Sturdivant, Jason (Shaneta) Sturdivant, Jestin (Zykia) Sturdivant and Earl (Lucretia) Sturdivant; one stepdaughter, Katondra (Darrell) Sturdivant. Seventeen grandchildren: Kelis, Avery and Austin Marshall; Cordaro, Cameron, Shania, Kania, and Courtney Sturdivant; Juwan, Jessica, Jasa, Jhase and Jayla Olivia Strudivant; Jakayla, Jaliya, Jalaina Sturdivant and Eastyn Sturdivant; five step grandchildren; two great grands and one step great grand. One brother, Billy Sturdivant of Wadesboro, NC; two sisters, Sarah Phillips of New Rochelle, NY and Vicki Sturdivant of Riverdale, GA; four brothers-in-law, Clinton Ingram, Tor Moore Walter Richard Moore and Michael Moore; six sisters-in-law, Emma Williams, Betty Wall, Patricia Morrison, Patricia Moore, Cheryl Moore and Patheinia Moore One goddaughter, Kesha Dunlap and one godson, Darrell Melton; his Pastor, Overseer Sylvia and Deacon Lewis McLendon and the Divine Unity Family; loving nieces and nephews; a special aunt and best friend, Mrs. Mary Lee Ratliff and her nine children (Todd preceded him in death). A host of cousins, relatives and friends.

The Homegoing Services will be on Saturday, January 14, 2023, 12:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be at Westview Memorial Park, Highway 74-West, Wadesboro, North Carolina.

The Sturdivant Family will greet family and friends on Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 11:30am-12:00pm at Smith's Memorial Chapel.
