Obituary For Donny Brantley

Memorial Services for Mr. Donny Brantley, of Decatur, will be held Monday, January 9, 2023, 11:00 A.M. at The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church, 1879 Glenwood Avenue, Atlanta, GA. Reverend Dr. William E. Flippin, Senior Pastor, Eulogist. Public Viewing and Visitation will be held Sunday, January 8, 2023, 9:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the mortuary.

Mr. Brantley leaves to cherish his memories, son, Donny Brantley, Jr.; his beloved granddaughter, Selina Donnay Brantley; 3 brothers, Artis Brantley (Shirley), Terry Brantley, Roger Brantley; Mae Berry (Darryl); Debi Allen; and a host of other loving relatives, extended church family, and close friends.

As a member of The Children's Ministry for The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church, I got to know Donny very well in his capacity as Custodian/Security. He was always there when I needed him to unlock doors, rearrange furniture or help set up the stage for different programs. He would often help me, without being asked, to get materials from my car to Children' Church. Once, when it was raining really hard, Donny brought my car to the door so I wouldn't get wet. I have seen him in the kitchen frying chicken for different events and making coffee for breakfast. Indeed, he was always willing to lend a hand. To the family: Donny was truly a caring, giving and serving person. May this comfort you in difficult times. Joyce Jacobs
