Obituary For Edward Charles Nickerson

Edward Charles Nickerson, 71, of Seale, AL passed Thursday, December 22, 2022 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral service will be 12 noon EST, Friday, December 30, 2022 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Seale, AL with Rev. Michael Burton, pastor, officiating. Burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Phenix City, AL. Visitation is Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 12-5 p.m. EST.

Edward Charles Nickerson was born on August 4, 1951 in Seale, Alabama to the parents of Tom and Missouri Nickerson.

Charles was a mighty warrior of life, but was called home on December 22, 2022 at Columbus Hospice in Columbus, Georgia.

He confessed Christ at an early age and joined Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was a faithful member and loved his church. He was a member of the male choir and then served as a deacon and the treasurer until his death.

He united in marriage to Lucy Miller Nickerson and in this union they had one son, Cory Wydell Nickerson. He was employed at Kellogg’s for 40+ years until retirement in 2015. He also was owner and operator of Nickerson Lawn Service for 30+ years.

Preceding him in death other than his parents are two siblings, James T. Nickerson and Ethel J. Culpepper.

Cherishing his memories are his wife, Lucy Nickerson; son, Cory W. Nickerson of Seale, Alabama; two daughters, Latoya Bellamy and Yolanda Bellamy both of Columbus, Georgia; two sisters, Pansy M. James of Phenix City, Alabama and Vivian E. Thomas of Lawrenceville, Georgia; one brother, Winston Nickerson of Seale, Alabama; five sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Oscar) Quarles, Mary (Frank) Hardwick, Marie Tolliver, Hattie (George) Quarles and Jeanette (Dana) Larkins; three brothers-in-law, Thomas Culpepper, Joseph Miller and William (Jesse) Miller; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
