Obituary For Hubert Lynn Cooks

Graveside service for Hubert Cooks, 64, of Lanett, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m. (CST), Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL 36801, Minister Linda Diane Cole will officiate.

Mr. Cooks, who passed away Monday, December 12, 2022 at the Bethany House in Auburn, AL, was born May 10, 1958 in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Friday, December 16, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Facial covering is required).

He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Tenecia Cooks of Opelika, AL; two grandchildren, Dayshun Cooks and Dayshja Cooks both of Opelika, AL; two sisters, Linda D. Cole of Opelika, AL and Cynthia C. Bennett of Austell, GA; a devoted life partner, Leah Barnes of Lanett, AL and her three daughters, Chandra Lynch of West Point, GA, Jamelia (Greg) Nelson of Opelika, AL, Beautina Barnes of Lanett, AL and their children, Jalynn Brooks, Shar Barnes, Mileah Lynch, Taleah Milhouse and Takai Milhouse; one uncle, Bobby (Rosia) Dowdell, Jr. of Alabaster, AL; one niece, Leslie E. (Raymond) Nwanoro of Dayton, OH; three nephews, Christopher L. (Chanicer) Cooks of Lithia Springs, GA, Jeffrey L. Cooks of Douglasville, GA and Trabin Bennett of Marietta, GA; a host of cousins and friends.
