After graduating high school, Rose began building her legacy and joined the United States Army, where she served in excellence with the Military Police and did a “tour of duty” in Germany. She was honorably discharged in 1988. Rose continued her service with the United Postal Service, where she ultimately retired. Rose served with the spirit of excellence in every capacity in both her military and civilian life. She was the epitome of a life of selfless acts.
Rose always served her family and community with love and a sparkling smile. She never met a stranger and would give the blouse off her back to help someone in need. Her culinary skills were superb, and not only would she feed her community, but she would also nourish their soul. Rose was a connoisseur of travel and had a diverse group of friends that were touched by her presence. She left a lingering scent of friendship everywhere her feet roamed.
Rose was predeceased by her mother, Thelma Jackson-Harper, sister, Jackie Harper, brother, Willie James, Morris, Jr., and granddaughter, Aneese.
