Ms. Helen Petty Lattimore went on to be with our Heavenly Father on December 6, 2022. She was born on September 19, 1931 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Sam Petty and Mamie Degree Petty.
Helen was a faithful member of Hopewell Baptist Church until her health declined. She was an usher for many years; served on the kitchen committee as well as sang on the choir. Helen constantly read her bible. She enjoyed watching television ministries and loved listening to gospel music. She also loved looking at women’s basketball which came from her days as a basketball player at Washington High School. She often told her family that her teachers at Washington wanted her to go off to school to become a teacher.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Christina Jones; brothers, Sam Petty, Jr., James Petty, Jake Petty, David Petty and sisters, Cordelia Cannedy, Grace Sharpe, Novella Webber and Margaret Ward.
She is survived by her children, Roger Petty, James Jones, Stanley Jones, Ronnie Jones, Jacqualine Goddard, Sylvia Jones, Marty Jones and Ricky Jones; her sisters, Alice Petty and Ruth McCluney (Holland); special nephews, Dwight Petty (Connie), Kenneth Petty (Minnie) and Jerome Webber (Mary); six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 2:30 PM at Hopewell Baptist Church. The service will be livestreamed starting at 2:15 PM from Enloe Mortuary Facebook Page. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 2:30 PM. Burial will take place at church cemetery.

I'm so sorry to hear this about Ms. Helen my prayers is with the family and may God strengthening you all, and give you comfort. Ms. Lattimore was a sweet lady, and definitely a woman of God. I know she has earn her wings and her crown with Jesus. Ms. Lattimore definitely had a true angel on this earth taken care of her and that was her son may God give him comfort and strength to make it through the sadness.
