Obituary For John "Pop" Edward Murrell, Jr.

John "Pop" Edward Murrell, Jr., 75 passed on Monday, November 28, 2022 at CarolinaEast Medical Center.

His service is 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 3, 2022 at St. Peter's AME Zion Church. The interment will follow at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request a contribution in "Pop's" memory to St. Peter's AME Zion Church, Restoration Fund, 617 Queen Street, New Bern, North Carolina.

"Pop" is survived by his wife, Margaret T. Murrell, of the home; son, Edmond Midgett, New Bern; granddaughter, Zsakira Miller, Havelock; sisters, Diane Herbert (Allan), White Plains, NY., Cassandra Murrell of New Bern, Evelyn Boyd, Atlanta, GA., and Joyce Andrews, Maysville, NC; one brother, Ricky Sparrow, Alexandria, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, children of the heart and grandchildren of the heart.

Masks are required.
