Funeral service for Bobbie Jean Walker 81, will be Thursday, November 17, at 1 pm at the New Hope CME Church with Rev. Frederick Washington, officiating.

Interment will follow in the New Hope CME Church Cemetery. Ms. Walker passed away on November 9, 2022 at Regional Medical Center.

Ms. Walker's remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to her service. She was a 1959 graduate of Calhoun County Training School, She attended Tuskegee College and received her Bachelor*s degree (BSW) from Springfield College, Springfield, MA. She retired from the Springfield Urban League and Springfield College's social work programs, in Springfield, MA and Wilmington, DE. Survivors include her son, Sean Walker; granddaughters: Soraya Walker and Mya Walker; her sisters: Gloria Walker Braxton, V. Lynne Walker (Leonard) Mason, Lisa (Mitchell) Johnson, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Semus and Henrietta Walker, brother, Clemmon "Sonny" Walker.
