Obituary For James Eddie Lundy, Sr.

MR. JAMES EDDIE LUNDY, SR. – Age 75, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born February 24, 1947, to the late Bruce Shropshire, Sr., and Minister Mable Neal Lundy. He obtained his formal education from Hill High School, LaFayette, GA. He was employed as a material handler at Syntech where he retired from. He was a member and Elder at Cove Road Church of God, LaFayette, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife; JoAnn Underwood Lundy and brothers; Richard Lundy, II and Carlton Lundy.

He is survived by his loving sons; Tyrus Suttle, James Lundy, Jr., Robert Lundy, and Sean Flannigan all of LaFayette, GA; daughter, Felicia (Willie) Cox of Chattanooga, TN; twelve grandchildren, Bless Starling, Jamon Lundy, Caleb Flannigan; seven great grandchildren; fiancé, Rose Davis; six sisters, Barbara (Jaí) Lundy of Palm Springs, CA, Minister Gail Lundy of Ringgold, GA, Denisee Hairston of LaFayette, GA, Diane Shropshire, Leatha Shropshire, and Betty Careathers all of Nashville, Tennessee; three brothers, Jerry Lundy of LaFayette, GA, Bruce Shropshire, Jr. of Salt Lake City, UT, and Kenneth Covington of Summerville, GA; aunt, Betty Jean Wooten of LaFayette, GA; uncle, Henry Shropshire; sister-in-laws, Brenda Lundy of LaFayette, GA, Peggy Underwood of Ft. Oglethorpe, and Sandra Boddie of Rome, GA; brother-in-law, Ronald Underwood of LaFayette, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Homegoing Celebration will be Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 1:00 P. M. at the Willis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Brown, Sr., Eulogist and Minister Chad Burse, Presiding. The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the funeral home. Interment; Naomi Cemetery. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, GA.

He Possessed an Infectious Smile that would always usher in a smile from all that came in contact with Him. Here's the thing, my cousin didn't establish his company overnight. However, when he realized he was enough by himself; he knew he didn't have to rely on people to approve him. He knew his approval came from his Heavenly Father. He realized that he was crowned with favor and this in itself, prepared him for his flight, in first class to his final destination.
