Obituary For Mr. Artha Lee Alford

Mr. Artha Lee Alford departed this life on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist High Point Medical Center. He was born on June 6, 1953, in McColl, SC, a son of the late Johnny Alford, Sr., and Bernice Williams Alford. He was also preceded in death by two children: Latoya Stevenson, and Demetrice Alford, and ten siblings: John Alford, Jr., David Alford, Brick Alford, Alexander Alford, Billy Lee Alford, Lawrence (LC) Alford, Lorenzo Alford, Ella Louise Bethea, Betty Florence, and Lois Alford.

Artha was educated in the public schools of Marlboro County, SC. He was a retiree of Swaim Metals in Thomasville, NC, where he loved to make coin rings for his nieces. Artha was the true definition of a family man.

Leaving to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Shelby Alford; daughters, Samone Quick of High Point, NC, and Tyisha Alford of Columbia, SC; four sons, Chris (Kristina) Davis of Atlanta, GA, Brian Davis of Houston, TX, Demetric Alford of New York, and Jerome Davis of Rock Hill, SC; one brother, Charles Alford of High Point, NC; three sisters, Helen (Larry) Bennett of Bennettsville, SC, Sara Alford, and Elizabeth Ann Alford, both of High Point, NC; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
