Obituary For Govan Emerson Jr.

Homegoing Services for Mr. Govan Emerson, Jr. will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022,11:00am in Elizabeth Chapel of Alfosno Dawson Mortuary, 3000 M.L.King Jr., Drive SW, Atlanta, GA 30311. Viewing will be on Wednesday, November 02, 2022, from 12 noon - 6:00pm. Burial service will be held immediately after the service on Thursday, November 03, 2022, at Westview Cemetary, Atlanta, GA.

Govan Emerson Jr. is survived by his son, Gregory Emerson Sr., grandchildren, Sharda Emerson, Gregory Emerson Jr., Ellissa Emerson and Samantha Ulysse, great grandchild, Malik Govan Emerson, daughter in Christ, Helga Emerson and siblings, Hattie, Amos and Yvonne. Govan worked for many years with MARTA until his retirement in in 1992. Govan was pre-deceased by his wife Hattie (Ledbetter) Emerson and his second wife Etheleen (Bennett) Emerson.
