To just hear the loss of such a beautiful family as only the Lord knows. I only knew reading the news today. So much happening, I just gave up TV. This was something to miss! My heart and prayers will be for the family and ongoing healing of the heart. God does give us comfort to go on but, our love ones will always be part of us and we will always miss them. To her children and family members—— celebrate the love Katrina showed and affection from her heart —-her spouse and baby girl she adored. We all will miss her and shocked—- but we know WHO has our Lives in His Hands. Cry, pray, celebrate and share love everyday because tomorrow is not promise and treat others as you know the Lord is watching. This family had love and shared it — so keep it going in hurt and pain. He Knows!!

This was an amazing family and I am grateful to have known them. Katrina was a blessing to the West Central Health District - her smile and her helpful spirit is what I remember most. Brian, I'm so sorry for your loss. Your mama told me many times how proud she was of you. I remember you helping with Safe Kids when you were in high school and helping me with heavy gardening at home. Hugs to you and the entire family. Pam Fair

We don't always understand the tragedies in life, but we know that if we put our trust in Jesus Christ alone, what the enemy means for evil, God will see us through this and mold our character into whom he created us to be. One day, everyone will see their loved ones again, WOW how amazing that will be. Oh death, you no longer have a hold on God's children. Jesus took back what the Devil has tried to destroy. Death was never part of God's plan yet he win us back by sending His SON, JESUS, to set us free and make us righteous again. For what I know about Katrina since I too work for PH, she is a child of the most high God and I will get to see her again. Oh what a wonderful day that will be to see all of those gone before us. Praying for those left to finish the work God has for their lives here on earth until he calls us home.

My deepest condolences to the Jakes family. I worked with Katrina for 13 years at Columbus Health Department and my heart is broken! She also attended my church - Greater Shady Grove along with her children. I had the honor of teaching Kamryn in Children's Church, and there was something almost "angelic" about her spirit. Katrina and I often talked about her sweet and kind spirit. May your memories live on in our heart as you are now resting in the arms of our Lord. Sincerely, Brenda J. Forman

My heart was broken by the news of you and your family passing. A week prior I lost my uncle and my grandmother the week before that, so it hit me hard. The first thing that came to my mind as I thought about you was your smile! It was radiant like the sun. Then I thought back to seeing you and your husband take your picture at the employee appreciation and you guys shared a kiss. I thought about much of a blessing it was to be able to share work space with the person you love, doing what you love to do. Heaven has gained 3 more angels, rest in paradise.

Byron, Katrina, and Kamryn. No words can describe this immeasurable pain the entire family is feeling. Byron, we've always ended every conversation with I Love You Cousin. Forever grateful that we were all together at the Family Reunion taking pictures, laughing and talking as we have always done since childhood. Man I'm going to miss the random texts and the talks of trips we 1st cousins were planning on taking together. Katrina and Kamryn you are the best wife and daughter and made Byron an even better human with your pure and unconditional love. Braylon has ALL of the family's deepest love and unwavering support. I Love You ALL. May you Sleep in Perfect Peace. Kimberly Jakes #JakesForLife #2BrothersKids
