REFLECTION OF LIFE:

Mable Jean Benford was born on August 11, 1958 to the proud parents of the late Ms. Mattie Benford and the late Mr. Lester Kimbrough.

Mable attended Tchula Attendance Center where she graduated in 1976. She went on to college at Natchez Trace where she had to withdraw to see after her grandmother who raised her, the late Mrs. Leathe Benford-Smith.

Mable joined Mt. Zion M.B. Church in Howard Bottom at a very early age. She committed her life to God under the leadership of Rev. JB Brown where she became one of the lead choir members and soloist and was one of the lead singers of a gospel group by the name of the Six Blossoms. She remained at Mt. Zion until her forties. She later joined Mt. Calvary M.B. Church in Tchula, MS, under the leadership of Pastor Nathan Stevenson.

Mable was blessed with two daughters; Stephanie and Carolyn Benford and a large family of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mable worked for nine years at Mississippi Uniforms as a seamstress and stripper.

Mable was one of thirteen kids under her father where three preceded her in death and one sister by her mom who also preceded her in death.

Brothers: Lester Coats, David Kimbrough, Pastor Bobby Kimbrough(Anna)Sr.; Felica Benford, three grandchildren; Cortavius Benford, Daveyonn Benford and Demeshiana Benford.

Mable leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters; Stephanie B. Davis(Demetri Holmes) and Carolyn Benford(Bob Coffer);two grandsons; Martavius Benford and DaKavegonn Coffer; three granddaughters; Detriana Benford, Cormeshiana Coffer and Aaliyah Coffer; three great grandchildren; Martavins Jr. Benford, Martajia Benford and Jaahi Akeil Dantez Benford; Sisters; Joanna (Willie) Edwards(McCool, MS); Shirley Coats(Durant, MS)Carrie (Russell-Deceased)Portis(Gary, IN);Jannalla Wadlington(Columbus, OH);Evangelist Wanda (Minister Chris)Dunagan(Augusta, GA); Cassandra Kimbrough(Chicago, IL);Brothers; Alex (Renee)Kimbrough (Chicago, IL) and Torrance Cooper(Gary, IN). Special cousins; Essie Mae Blue, Vera Blue, Annie Benford, Louise Blue, Mary Blue, Jackie Blue, Jessia Blue, Fredrick(Tasha)Blue, Lee Ann Blue, Angie Blue, Tasha Fort and Ruby Watts; Favorite Aunt; Essie B. Blue, a lifelong friend; Mr. Londy Brown Jr; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; a special family friend; Mary Reed Redmond.
