Mrs. Ross was employed with Howard Johnson Hotel, Hickory Chair, before retiring from Hickory Manufacturing. She attended Living Waters Christian Ministries where she faithfully served and was a member of the Golden Girls Senior Ministry. Her hobbies included doing word search puzzles, playing bingo, watching soap operas, flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Annie Mae Smith Hunt; her husband, Marion Ross; a brother, Johnny Hunt and a sister, Della Hunt.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Minister Lucinda Ross of the home and Mary Littlejohn of Denver, CO; two sons, Matthew Ross (Shirley) of Spartanburg, SC and Calvin Ross (Shirley) of Union, SC; one sister, Ethel Lee Shell of Shelby; six grandchildren, Ashley Williams (Tyreece), Sgt. Nigel Moore and Devonte Moore who were all reared in the home, Demertris Hillman, Jerry Littlejohn, II, Brittany Suchland (Wayne) and Robert McGill (Von); great-grandchildren, Asia Hillman, Katelyn Coon, Adalayah Suchland, Ziya Suchland, Ratavius McGill, Zechariah McGill, Aeryn Williams and Tyson Williams; one great-great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
She had two special friends Elder Gail Pompey and Mother Gwendolyn Moss.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 3:30 PM at Faith Harvest. Burial will take at the Philadelphia United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers make donations to The Life Enrichment Center. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 3:30 PM and at other times at 866 E. Zion Church Road.
