Mrs. Glenda Searcy Barron passed on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 12:00 Noon until 4:30 P.M. at Trice Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Welcome Grove Baptist Church. Trice Funeral of Thomaston is in charge of all professional services. Mrs. Glenda Mae Searcy Barron was born to the late Mrs. Cordell Searcy and the late Mr. Robert Walker on November 16, 1961. In Thomaston Upson County, Georgia. Glenda joined the Welcome Grove Baptist Church at an early age. She maintained her membership throughout her lifetime. She was a faithful and dedicated member who would always find time to serve her church, especially on her off day from work. She possessed a quiet spirit but a strong faith in God. Glenda was educated in the Upson County School System and graduated from Upson High School. She furthered her learning at Flynt River Technical College and earned LPN License. She was employed by Harborview Nursing Home as an LPN. Glenda was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Thomas Jefferson Barron om July 2, 1994. She was the mother of four children whom she taught them to be respectful, to love God and to do well in life. She was a good example and role model for her children. Her husband preceded her in death on July 11,2015. During her leisure time, Glenda enjoyed cooking, reading, professional quilting, attending showcase of Quilts Shows, cooking, traveling, Senior Citizen Line dancing, attending the Perry Fair yearly, visiting Hobby Lobby Craft stores, working in her flowers, attending Lunch and Learn and spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Minnie.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. On Wednesday, September 28, 2022, the Lord called her name. She answered the call and went home to eternal rest. Her sudden departure has saddened the hearts of her family, but her loving memory will live on forever. Glenda is survived by four children, Ms. Stacey Searcy of Savannah, GA, Ms. Tracey Searcy of Orlando, FL, Mr. Terry Searcy of Thomaston, GA and Ms. Dale Barron ( Robert Lowe, Jr) of Columbus, GA; four step-children, Ms. Kishawn Barron and Mr. Brian Wyatt both of Thomaston, GA, Mr. Jerome Danzey of Hampton, GA and Mrs. Tabatha Barron McCary of Covington, GA; fifteen grandchildren and two great -grandchildren; a cousin who was more like a sister, Mrs. Katherine Yates of Thomaston, GA; and a host of other cousins and other relatives and friends.
