He was the son of the late Arthur Van Stepney and the late Ella Wea (Alford) Stepney in Columbia, Mississippi, a graduate of Marion Central High School and retired from Wagmans Contractors.
Pap or Sunny Boy as he was affectionately called by family and friends, enjoyed spending time with family, fishing and making his own fly fishing hooks. He also enjoyed listening to his oldies but goodies (Marvin Gaye, Al Green and The Isley Brothers), watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys, Sixers and his Westerns.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents; his little lady, Nancy Morris; his two brothers, Woodrow Stepney and Roy James. He leaves to celebrate his life, his two daughters, Alisha and Michaela Morris; his son, Samuel Morris III; his two sisters, Katherine (Darryl) Lovely and Maria Coleman; his two granddaughters, Rachel and Ragine Williams; his four great grandchildren, Zheneya Johnson, Hanif Johnson, HeavenLee Chase and Jy’Ri Chase; his sisters-in-law, Maudel Lewis Stepney and Patricia James and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
His life will be celebrated on Friday, September 30 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton, with Viewing from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. and burial in Paxtang Cemetery.
