She received her education in the Brooks County School system. She graduated from Brooks County High School as part of the class of 1987. Later Betty Jo received her CNA license which allowed her to gain employment at several medical facilities concluding with the Langdale Hospice House of Valdosta, GA.
She departed this life on September 15, 2022, at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta while her sisters Melissa and Diane were by her bedside. Betty Jo grew up singing and reciting speeches in the Modern Day Holiness Church of Quitman, GA. She joined Calvary Christian Center under the leadership of the Late Rev. Ronnie G. Averett. Later she became a faithful member of Bethel AME Church of Quitman under the leadership of Rev. Renee Gee-Theophile. She was an active member of the Sarah Allen Missionary Society and Senior Usher Board. She participated faithfully with the Young People’s Division.
She leaves to cherish her memories of two beautiful children, a son, Cleveland Dasher, Jr., and a daughter Cambria Dasher both of Quitman, GA.; she also leaves to mourn a loving and devoted friend, Cleveland Dasher; two sisters, Diane Williams (the late Roy) and Melissa Little both of Quitman, GA. Two brothers Calvin Little(Hazel) and Larry Little(Brenda) both of Quitman, GA. and one sister-in-law, Marilyn Little. Four other loving siblings, Jarvis Travis (Dorothy) of Quitman; Bertha Gosier and Annie Anderson (Frank) of Valdosta, GA; Rosa Gosier of Rochester, New York; Jermecka McCaskin of Thomasville, GA, and One aunt, Ruth Brooks of
Moultrie, GA. She also leaves to mourn a loving and devoted friend, Cleveland Dasher, Sr. special friends, Betty Gray, Wilma McCoggle, and Keisha Brown, and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 1PM at Bethel A.M.E. Church. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visit this website or our Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home Facebook page to view a livestream of the celebration on Saturday.
