Funeral Services for Ms. Ruby Hart 76, of Unadilla GA will be Saturday September 24, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Shiloh Baptist Church. Interment Davis Chapel Cemetery, Henderson GA.
Public Visitation will be held Friday September 23, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Ms. Ruby Gwendolyn Hart, 76, of Unadilla, Georgia, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on September 17, 2022. Daughter of the late Charlie and Merlin Heart, Ruby was born on May 12, 1946 . Ruby began working at an early age at the New Perry Hotel, Head Start, and later, at Middle Flint as a cook and bus driver. She was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church of Elko, where she served on the Usher Board, as secretary for twenty years, as Church Clerk, and as Coordinator of the Senior Citizen Program, as well as secretary of the Women’s Department. She was an Eastern Star at Chapter 88 of Unidilla, Georgia. Her interest included cooking, making beads, attending the Senior Citizen’s Center in Vienna, Georgia, singing her favorite gospel songs and listening to her old school blues. Glen was a strong, hard-working woman whose traits and virtues never left her. She was preceded in death by nine siblings, Dorthy Helen Hart, Charlie Hart, Jr., Ora Dean Hart, Eddie Henry Hart, Geraldine Smith, Barbara Brown, Helen Parker, Albert Connel Felder, and James Otis Watkins; as well as two children, Anita Gray and Chauncey “Chip” Stang. Glen leaves to cherish: two children, Selbert Smith of Perry, GA, and Torra Johnson of Unadilla, GA; five grandchildren, Kiera Walker, Briana Bailey, Jessica Hart, Justin Johnson, and Wyeshia Jackson; sisters, Myrtis Brown, Carlestine Hart, Mary (Lester) Whitfield, Linda Carter, Cathy Hart, Sara (Royal) Truss, and Kimberly (Jeffery) King; brothers, Herbert (Taiyuan) Hart, and Charles Lee (Linda) Watkins; one sisterin-law, Mary Watkins; two goddaughters, Lawanda Mathis and Alandria West; and a host of other relatives and friends.
