Graveside service for Gwendolyn Wilson, 66, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Mount Traveler Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 1229 South Dawson Avenue, Waverly, Alabama 36879, Dr. Benjamin Datiri, Pastor and Reverend Robert Cadenhead, Eulogist. (Facial covering is required)

Mrs. Wilson, who passed away Monday, September 12, 2022 at her home in Opelika, AL, was born July 28, 1956 in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Friday, September 16, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Facial covering is required).

She leaves to cherish her memory: two children, Alicia (Rodney) Darden of Salem, AL and Terrence (Lorry) Taylor of Manchester, TN; one brother, Tyler “Tom” Taylor of Auburn, AL; six grandchildren, Rodneisha Darden of Atlanta, GA, Demetrius Darden of Salem, AL, Shon Taylor, Darryl “DJ” (Nichole) Wood both of Manchester, TN, Lesli Wood of Panama City, FL and Zachary David of Atlanta, GA; two great granddaughters, Sadie Wood of Panama City, FL and Brindley Wood of Manchester, TN; one aunt, Johnnie Mae Ardister of Auburn, AL; a very special friend, Jerome Dawson of Valley, AL; a devoted cousin, Brenda (Eddie) Harris of Auburn, AL; extended family including, John Willie Todd of Opelika, AL, Michael (Jewell) Taylor of Wichita, KS, Robert “Bobby” Walton, Jr., Beverly Lockhart, Wanda Harris all of Opelika, AL and LaShunta Buchanon of Beauregard, AL; a host of cousins, church members, and friends.
