A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA for Joseph Edward Robert, 72, who entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 9, 2022 at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be at Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA. Father Hai Pham, SVD will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial. Mr. Robert is survived by his daughter, Shalanda Roberts Polk of Opelousas, LA; his son, Derryon Esprit-Roberts of Lake Charles, LA, four grandchildren: Kayla Newman of Houston, TX, and Quinn, Sean, and Lauren Polk of Opelousas, LA; and his very special friend, Shirley Ann Collins of Opelousas, LA; six brothers, Joseph Roberts (Gertie), Roy Roberts, and Lawrence Roberts of Plaisance, LA, Anthony Robert, Sr. (Lois) of Bellevue, LA, James Roberts (Earline) and Rogers Roberts, Jr. both of Opelousas, LA; five sisters: Eula Rami (Elliot), Betty Esprit (Frank), Shirley Rami (Nolan), all of Opelousas, LA, Virginia Darjean of Houston, TX, and Linda Simien (Danny) of Humble, TX, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Mr. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Rogers Robert, Sr. and Nora Chenier Robert; brothers John Felton Robert and Joseph Calvin Roberts; a daughter, Regina Roberts; and a son, Chad Roberts.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 7:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m.
