Obituary For Eloise Browning Houston

Eloise Browning Houston, 94 of Bowie, TX passed away on September 9, 2022.

Private graveside services and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Bowie, TX.

Eloise was born on January 30, 1928 in Pleasant Valley, Clay County, Texas to Clifford Henry “Jack” Browning and Rosie Lee (Foreman) Browning. She graduated from Bellevue High School in 1946 and moved to Wichita Falls, TX, where she worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. On April 26, 1953, Eloise married Jack Houston in Bowie, TX.

Granny had a great love for her family and to have everyone together for dinner. Backdoor guest were best; “Come on in.”, she would say. You would always find her in the kitchen with a big smile, always happy to have visitors stop by unannounced. She believed in the simple life.

Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack Houston in 2003, son Greg Houston 2008, grandson-n-law James Reed 2021; her brothers Billy and J.T. Browning.

Survivors include her daughter Kim Lee and husband Buddy; daughter-in-law Connie Houston; sister-in-law Edwina Browning; grandchildren, Ashley Reed, Mackenzi Eberly and husband Jarrod, and Abby Harrell and husband John; and great-grandchildren, Mason and Carter Reed, McKray, Brig, and Kord Eberly, and Kutter and Keaton Harrell.

Memorials can be made to the charity of your choice.

Eloise was such a sweet lady! We were blessed to have her as our neighbor when we lived on Salona Hwy. She always welcomed us into her home with a warm smile. I will never forget her wonderful sense of humor and contagious laugh! My thoughts and prayers are with her family. Peggy (Sims) Waller
