I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun; Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.

James "Bay Bay" Johnson, of Wise, North Carolina departed this life on Friday September 9, 2022, at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill, Virigina.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 18, 2022, at 12Noon at New Providence Christian Missionary Baptist Church 1908 US Hwy 1 N. Norlina, NC. The Reverend Kathard Marks will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.

“Bay Bay” leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of thirty-one years Charine Johnson; two children DeoAndre Johnson and Jamene Johnson both of the home; one brother, James “Boo” Boyd of Wise, NC; two sisters Dorothy Boyd of Norlina, NC and Glenda Moss of Manson, NC; father in law, Earl Talley of Wise, NC; three sisters in law, Connie (Gary) Jones of Manson, NC, Felecia Talley of Boydton, VA, and Shawanda Talley of South Hill, VA; three brother in-laws, Calvin Talley of Boydton, VA, Tony Talley of Wise, NC, and Bruce Talley of Boydton, VA; two special nephews Russell (Monica) Johns of Henderson, NC and Ricky Moss of Manson, NC; two nieces, Glennis Moss of Henderson, NC and Renee Boyd of Wise, NC. A special godson, Andre Bullock of Wise, NC and special cousin/brother Torrance (Titia) Davis of Wise, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 12Noon-5:00PM
