Obituary For Mr. Thomas J. Daniels

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas J. Daniels, 70, of Orangeburg, SC, will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel, 2868 Columbia Road, Orangeburg, SC.

Thomas Jeffery Daniels was born on May 16, 1952 to the late I. J Pruitt (Plunk) Daniels and Corrie Felder Daniels Mack in Orangeburg, SC. Thomas died on Friday, September 10, 2022.

Thomas attended Bethune Elementary, Sharperson Junior High and graduated from Orangeburg High School which became Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School. Thomas symbolized his dedication to Jehovah God by water baptism on February 11, 1968.

Thomas moved to New York City, NY in 1969. He met and married Sharon Jones Daniels in 1973. Their union produced two children: Thomas Jeffrey (Kathleen) Daniels II and the late Shanyse Renee Daniels. Thomas worked at New York University Hospital and retired in 2008.

Thomas was preceded in death by his daughter, Shanyse Renee Daniels; his parents, I. J. Pruitt (Plunk) Daniels and Corrie Felder Daniels Mack; brothers, Ronald Daniels, Edgar Gene Daniels, and John Henry Daniels; and sisters, Lillian S Daniels Haynes and Mildred Louise Daniels.

Thomas is survived by his wife Sharon Jones Daniels; son, Thomas Jeffrey (Kathleen) Daniels II; his beloved grandchildren, Teagan Marie Daniels and Liam Brycen Daniels; siblings, Edith Daniels Gaillard of Orangeburg, Isaac James (Debbie) Daniels of Bronx, NY and Jacob (Ivory Gail Hubbard) Mack; of Orangeburg, SC; nieces, Cynthia Daniels and Stacey A. Daniels; nephews, Antoine B Daniels, Sr., Dante’ Michael Daniels, Jonathan Charles Daniels, Stephonne Arnaz Daniels, Tyler Brown Daniels, Robert Stephen Gaillard, Isaac J Daniels, II, Robert Daniels, Denise Hayes, and Melvin Hayes. A host of cousins and friends. Special thanks to his nephews Antoine B Daniels, Sr., Stephonne Daniels, and Robert Gaillard.

Mr. Thomas passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Pruitt Health, Orangeburg.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 16, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Family and friends may visit the residence of his sister, Ms. Edith Daniels Gaillard, 901 Corona Drive, Apt. 3A, Orangeburg. Friends may also call Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory of Orangeburg, SC.
