Rosa Lee Cargile May 9, 1944 – September 6, 2022 Fort Mill, South Carolina – Rosa L. Cargile, of 503 Starnes Point Court, Fort Mill, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am Sunday, September 18, 2022, at First Born Church of the Apostolic Faith with Pastor Ruth Cargile and Apostle Mitchell Reed officiating.

A native of Sylvester, Ga., and born to the late Willie and Trudie Roberts. She was the youngest of all her siblings.

Rosa attended the Worth County public schools and graduated from J. W. Holley High School in Sylvester, Ga. She always appreciated her humble beginnings growing up in the south. Her parents taught her in the home and took her to church at an early age.

Following graduation, she would move to Elizabeth, New Jersey. On September 21, 1963, she was joined in holy matrimony to spouse, Herbert Cargile. From this union God blessed them with 5 daughters: Derris, Phyllis, Janice, Hope and Tina.

She attended the Volunteer Faith Center and later joined the Elizabeth Christian Church. She accepted the Lord as her personal savior and was a baptized believer in Jesus Christ under the leadership of Mother Derris Cargile. Rosa was a dedicated and faithful member of her church and to the body of Christ. For many years she was a devoted member of the usher board and the kitchen committee.

Years later her family would move to Fort Mill, SC. She joined the First-Born Church of the Apostolic Faith in Rock Hill, SC. where she continued to serve under the leadership of Bishop Phillip & Ruth Cargile. Mother Rosa found a love and passion in caring for children while working for the PTL Daycare Center in Fort Mill, SC.

That passion grew and flourished so much, that with the help of her husband Herbert, she would open her own in-home day care for many years before going to work at the First Baptist Church Daycare center in Fort Mill, SC. and later All Nations Daycare until she retired. She was proceeded in death by her husband; 1 daughter, Phyllis L. Cargile; 6 brothers and 1 sister. She leaves to remember and cherish her memories; 4 daughters; Derris Sumerlin (Mortis Sr.), Janice Cargile-Knox (Gary), Hope Cargile-Jones and Tina Cargile-Wright (Robert); 9 Grandchildren; 3 Godchildren; Lateefa Banks, David Johnson Jr. and Tiffany Williams-Greene and a host of nieces and nephews.
