Obituary For Mrs. Jeannette Roberts

Jeannette Phillips Hazel Roberts finished her course in life on September 2, 2022, at Lakeside Senior Care, Douglas, GA, and quietly left on her well-planned journey to her new home in glory. She was born September 7, 1938, in Grady County, GA, the daughter of Walter Turner and Julia Mae Elijah Phillips.

Jeannette loved the Lord and served him daily. We praise God for her profession of faith that would not shrink. She was a former member of Saint Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, Whigham, GA. Later in life, she united with Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Pearson, GA. She served in many capacities, namely, the Choir, Kitchen Ministry, Sunday School, Mission Department, Deaconess, Youth Department Director, and was ever ready to do what was needed. Jeannette served many years as Financial Secretary, Youth Bible teacher for the Congress of Christian Education and Financial Secretary for the Union of the Great Eastern Baptist Association. Also, she was a member of the Retired Educators Association of South Georgia.

Her beloved husband, James Hazel, preceded her in death. Together, they shaped the lives of many Grady County and Atkinson County students as educators. She began her teaching career at the Beck Branch School, Calvary, GA. She retired from Atkinson County School System after 39 years of service. Jeannette joined in marriage with Rev. Louis Roberts of Sylvester, GA, who also preceded her in death.

Such an out reaching obituary of Jeannette P. Roberts. Just viewing her picture just reflexes so much personality and integrity. Seems like a lady I would enjoyed knowing. Betty Phillips I met a few years ago at her church and my former church, St. Stephens AME Zion. I'm sure she will have a beautiful homegoing this afternoon. To Arnold & Betty Phillips. Jeannette F.
