Elizabeth Ann Thomas was the firstborn child of the late Edd and Mary Dalton Thomas born on November 14, 1933, in Stoneville, NC. Throughout her lifetime, Elizabeth was known by all of her “Little Ann”- her nickname. She attended schools in Rockingham County. Her young adult life, she chose to live in California and later to New York.

Elizabeth united in marriage and out of that bond, a daughter, Lisa Ann was born. She was an employee of Burlington Industries for many years. Before her retirement, she was an employee of Stoneville Furniture where she enjoyed her days working amongst friends and relatives.

Elizabeth was a dedicated member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, where she sung in the Women’s Choir. She loved her family dearly and during her leisure enjoyed cooking, baking delicious desserts and sewing. After the passing of her beloved Mother Mary Thomas in 2009, she moved to Clayton, NC to be closer to her daughter and family. She later moved to Gabriel Manor Assisted Living Community where she love playing bingo. The other residents always called her the “big winner”. When you would visit, she loved to tell you how many times she won at bingo for that week. She spent the last few days of her life at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC, after being diagnosed with cancer.

Elizabeth made her transition to the Heavenly Father on August 30, 2022. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Willie Thomas. Left to cherish her memories: her daughter; Lisa Martin (Keith) of Garner, NC, granddaughter, Jessica Martin of Jacksonville, NC, grandson, Jonathan Martin of Raleigh, NC, great-granddaughters, Emma, Kailee and Marissa Martin.
