The Obituary
The Good Lord called home Annie B. Jackson also known as Ann, Nanna or Granny B on August 29, 2022. Annie B. was born to the late Eugene and Sudie Mae Speer in Alabama, on August 4, 1939.
Annie B was the 6th child and 1st girl of 14 children. She was like a mom to the last 8 born after her. Her siblings; Zebedee Speer, Elmer Speer, Arthur (Score) Speer, Clinton (Tenichee) Williams, Tony (Chin) Williams and Johnny (Pete) Williams, all preceded her in death.
All who knew Annie B knew education was important to her. She attained her GED in 1978 in New York. She received certifications in typing and business office skills; attended the College for Human Services, where she earned credits towards a BA in social work. Annie worked in New York City at Brooklyn Family Court, NY Police Dept., Rikers Correctional Facility, NY Dept. of Probation and NYC 911 operator where she took an early retirement and moved back to Alabama to assist with the care of her mom.
Annie B. Jackson was a classy, well respected, true woman of God. She had the biggest heart. She love genuinely and gave generously. She always greeted you with a smile and or hug and kiss. She opened her home to many. She fed everyone. And she loved family. Annie encouraged everyone around her to love one another and to forgive one another.
Among loving on her family and friends she was an avid reader, enjoyed thrift shopping, well any kind of shopping, gardening, keeping in touch with all she knew through letters and cards, phone calls, texts, and even social media, watching romantic comedies, HG TV and most importantly reading her daily bread- the Bible; which she encouraged everyone to do.
Annie B. Jackson was married to the late Lynwoood Jackson. They leave behind to cherish their memories three children and grandchildren, Sons: Bruce (Mustafa) Jackson (Khadijah and Kamaal Hemphill), Franklin (Black) and Laverne Jackson (Isaiah Jackson and John P. Wright), daughter: Latitia P. Jackson (Somalia Jackson, Anu and Kareem Wood and their children, Skylar and Kareem II Wood). Annie B leaves 7 siblings to cherish her memories. Brothers: Eddie and Catherine Speer, Swift and Jackie Speer, Wesley Williams and Billy (Skillet) Wayne Williams; Sisters: Ressie and Tony Coakley, Arenia Stansil, and Martha Sue and Bud Bates. Nieces and nephews who were with her until the end; Cheryl and Jo Pritchett, Joseph, Jojo, Teresa Ann Speer, Lashunda Williams, Lehome and Al Bliss, Kerry Calhoun and Shawnta Ama; dear friends: Johnnie Ann Williams, Robbie Miller, Gloria and Curtis Ansley and Lucy Messina. There are a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, in-laws and family friends who who deeply cared for Annie as she cared for them.

Jackson Public Visitation will be Friday, September 9, 2022 12 Noon - 2:00p.m. Freedom Church, Gadsden. Funeral Services 2 P.M. Friday, Freedom Church, with burial Rainbow Memorial Gardens Minister Bruce Word,Officiant.
