Susan C. “Rosie” Ross Erby

A much-loved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Susan “Rosie” Ross Erby was born in Harrisburg, daughter of the late LeRoy A. Ross and Susie Robinson Ross.

Affectionately known as “Rosie” by family and friends throughout her life, she received her formal education in the Steelton-Highspire School District and was a 1967 graduate of Steelton-Highspire High School. She was reared in Monumental AME Church in Steelton and joined the church at an early age. When her health began to fail, she enjoyed watching worship services on television or joining local church services via Zoom. During her working career, she was employed by the Commonwealth of PA and PHEAA.

“Rosie” peacefully transitioned into eternal life on Monday, August 22, 2022 at UPMC Community Osteopathic Hospital.

The cherished memories of her life will long be remembered by her devoted family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Helen K. Ross and leaves to celebrate her life, her two sons, Brian Erby of Harrisburg and Andrew-Lee Erby (Tara) of Steelton; her daughter, Leigh Ann Erby of Charlotte, NC; her seven grandchildren, Courtney, Kennedy, Bryant, Andrew, Jr., Alex, Alexa and Mia; her two great grandchildren, Kingston and Averi; her sister, Audrey Ross-Utley; her aunt, Ora Echols; her niece, Elizabeth Pettis; her nephew, Jeremy Ross and a host of other relatives and friends.

Susan had tremendous love for her family and fondness for her many life-long friends.
