Obituary For Miss Tonya LaVerna Walton

Augusta, Georgia-Miss Tonya LaVerna Walton entered into rest Tuesday, August 23, 2022.

Tonya Laverne Walton was born June 13, 1960, in Augusta, GA to the late Eddie Childs Sr. and Pinkie B. Walton. Tonya was a 1979 graduate of Lucy Craft Laney Comprehensive High School. She was employed by University Hospital for many years. She shared a special bond with her family, friends and any one she encountered on a day-to-day basis. Her favorite hobbies were her weekly calls to her family and friends and assisting anyone who needed her help. Tonya never met a stranger, nor did she ever leave you without a song. Her love for her children, family, and friends will continuously be the comforting source of the memories for all the lives she touched. Her infectious smile and jovial spirit shall permeate our hearts forever. Tonya is celebrating eternal victory with many that preceded her including her sister, Eloise Carter and brother, Charles Walton. Precious Memories of our dear Tonya’s life are left to her beloved daughter, Shurell Dean sons, Tavaris Dean and Rodney Walton; two sweet granddaughters: Khloe’ Bennefield (Boo Boo) and Gift Dean; five sisters: Runette Walton, Charlette Edwards, Valerie Walton, Martha Walton and Brenda Childs; three brothers: Joseph Walton, Maurice Walton, and Eddie Childs Jr.; and a host of close loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Public viewing will be Monday, August 29, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 pm.

Funeral services will conducted Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Kroc Center, 1833 Broad Street, Augusta, Georgia.
