Obituary For Mrs. Mary Lou Holloway Jones

Graveside services for Mary Lou Holloway Jones, 78, of 3227 Elliott Road, Pinewood, will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 20, 2022, at New Hope Community Cemetery, 18808 Panola Road, Pinewood, with interment to follow.

Mrs. Jones passed away Friday, August 12, 2022, at Lexington Medical Center, West Columbia.

Mary Lou Holloway Jones was born on May 5, 1944 to the late Percy Holloway and Annie Walker-Brown.

Mary Lou devoted her life to Christ at a very young age, passionately becoming a Jehovah’s Witness for many decades.

Mary graduated from Manchester High School Pinewood, SC and attended Seton Hall University, Orange, NJ and Morris College, Sumter, SC.

Mary Lou was known as a gentle, caring, empathetic and loving person that was always willing to help others. Mary Lou Holloway Jones, affectionately known as Mary, Sister Mary, Mom, Grandma and Great Granny, leaves to cherish loving memories: a devoted husband of sixty years, Willie L . Jones, Sr.; four children: Willie Jones, Jr. (Lisa Dibble) of Orangeburg, SC, Maria A Jones Thomas of Lawrenceville, GA, Carmen A Jones Leverette, and Ronald Jones both of Pinewood, SC; siblings: Doris Brown, Carolyn (John) Johnson and Geraldine (Jeffery) Sanders all of Pinewood, SC, Larry (Barbara) Brown of Sumter, SC, Nathan (Kathy) Brown of Dover, DE., and Eric (Yvonne) Brown of Bishopville, SC; grandchildren: Oliana S. Thomas, and Percy E. Darby both of Lawrenceville, GA., Shykhir Jones and Cambria A . Thomas both of Columbia, SC, Sierra R Thomas of Atlanta, GA, and Sincere N. Jones of Pinewood, SC; four great-grandchildren: Aaliyah Pough, Samir Pacius , Empress Lyles Pringle and Aura Bolden; sister- in- law, Dorothy Bannister of Irvington, NJ; dear friends: Sarah Felder, Ida Felder, Sarah Conyers and Martha Corbett; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends.

There will be no public viewing.
