Jemari, Helen, Carolyn, Carmikia, Jevares, Grandchildren, Great-Nieces, Great-Nephews, Cousins, Friends, and Sorors of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. again this is with a heavy heart that I extend condolences to my family during this difficult time. A year ago last August Cheryl's sister Venita (Dee-Dee) went to be with the Lord and to join their parents Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Ollie, now Cheryl has gone to join them as well. As kids growing up throughout the years we all spent countless hours and Sundays at First Baptist Church in Hope Hull, Alabama, and neighboring churches in the Hope Hull area singing. The Myrick children were in all the auxiliaries in the church. I vividly remember being in the youth choir, Cheryl and Dee Dee would lead songs, Cedric, Lisa, and I, along with the Webster, Massey, Jarrett, Harris, and Upshaw Children made up the First Baptist Youth Choir, and Carolyn playing the piano, and other musicians as well. During the summer Lisa and I would spend time over at the house with Helen, Carolyn, Cheryl and Venita (Dee-Dee). The first time I ever stayed on a college campus was with Cheryl, I stayed one weekend with her at the University of Montevallo, where she later graduated with a degree in Social Work. While at the University of Montevallo, Cheryl was one of the twelve visionary women who chartered the Nu Omicron Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. on April 9, 1977, on the campus of the University of Montevallo. It was the first African-American organization to be established on campus. Cheryl was articulate, smart, kind, very caring, and always smiling. Her radiant smile would greet you before she spoke any words, hello would be expressed all over her face. She would tell me, "It is so good to see you Ree". In our family my dad (Nelson) and Cheryl were the Myrick's fixtures at First Baptist Church. You could always count on the two of them being there. It is with heart ache and pain that this post is being made, because Cheryl had to leave her earthly home. However, it is my prayer that our almighty God took Cheryl's hand and showed her the way to her new eternal home in heaven, which was not built by human hands. In my Father's House there are many mansions, Cheryl is victorious, she is now living in the presence of Jesus. Cheryl, we love you, but God loves you best. You will live on in our hearts; forever,......Until we meet again....... The Myrick Family: Nelson, Hattie, Cedric, Sr., Marie, Lisa, & Wilburt.

Cheryl will always be remembered for her intellect and true dedication to whatever projects she engaged in. Her determination to go forward in spite of what many would term challenges she saw as opportunities to show personal strength. God blessed her to be a witness to endure not like a strong soldier but as one. Cheryl's memory will be cherished. To Carolyn, Cheryl's son and the rest of the Myrick and Moncrief family may you find one day comfort in knowing that God claimed His own. Condolences Dorothy Parks
