Derrick Tyrone Robinson

Derrick Tyrone Robinson was born on May 24, 1971 in Fort Pierce, FL to Jimmy and Doris Robinson. Derrick was a pupil that attended the public schools of Saint Lucie County ultimately attending Fort Pierce Westwood High School and graduated with the class of 1990. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged as a Desert Storm Veteran in 1994. After being discharged, he obtained a job as a Detention Officer #2 for the Department of Juvenile Justice for a period of 22 years (August 12, 1997-February 6, 2019) and as a Benefit Specialist for the Department of Children & Families (August 16, 2019-present). In his spare time, he enjoyed watching all sports but loved playing football. His favorite team since a child were the Dallas Cowboys and the Atlanta Braves.

It was on Thursday, July 21, 2022 that Derrick Robinson said goodbye to this world and slipped away to his eternal home. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Willie H. Robinson, Hurbert Lane, and James Reaves; grandmothers, Evelyn Robinson and Pearlie Mae Reaves; mother-in-law, Alice Gilpin; uncles, Shelton Davis, Ronald Davis, Nathaniel Robinson, and Ronnie Robinson; aunts, Mattie Brooks, Patricia Thomas, Minnie Grant, and Mariann Moore; special sister-in-law, Tia Robinson.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Daneta Robinson; children, McNeil Beck of Orlando, FL, Derrick Robinson, Barry Robinson of Fort Pierce, Nehemiah McPherson of Fort Pierce, and Mariah Colbert of Fort Pierce; parents, Jimmy Robinson and Doris Robinson; siblings, Michael Robinson of Jacksonville, FL, Jimmy Robinson, Craig Robinson, and Terrance Davis of Fort Pierce, FL, Kelvan Davis of Jacksonville, FL, Michelle Davis of Fort Pierce, FL; brothers-in-law, Calvin Santos and Sherman Santos; sisters-in-law, Bernice Thompson and Patricia Collymore; aunts, Virgiline Davis, Sheila(Jimmie)Moore, Theresa Robinson of Fort Pierce, FL, Sarah Robbin of Savannah, GA, and Robin; uncles, Donald(Angela)Robinson, Greg Robinson of Fort Pierce, FL, Wayne Robinson of Denver, CO, and Sylvester Robinson; extended family, Venetia(Veryl)Moore, Cleopatra McCormick, and Brandon Jones; co-worker, Susan Hudson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Public visitation for Derrick Tyrone Robinson will take place on Friday, August 5, 2022 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. Funeral services will convene on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 12:00pm. Burial will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
