Obituary For Mrs. Shirley Lindsey Crawford

Shirley Temple (Lindsey) Crawford was born January 13, 1939, to parents Cassie Lindsey and Bert Copeland. Shirley left this life and passed on to her long-awaited heavenly home on (July 29, 2022) after a lengthy illness.

She was married for 44 years to Robert Leevoid Crawford, who pre-deceased her in 2004.

Shirley leaves to celebrate her life and mourn her death; her children: Shirley Shervon Wilkins (Garry), Shelia Ann Crawford-King (Darryl), Willie Keith Crawford (Beatrice), Robert Douglas Crawford, and Lula Delesly Clapp (Dennis). She also leaves her two sisters, Catherine Patricia Foster and Mary Ellen Gaskin, and nine surviving grandchildren: Garry S. Wilkins, Gabrielle Wilkins, Dara King, Danice King, Keith M. Crawford, Alona Williams, Jasmine Brown, Robert Douglas Crawford (deceased), Tiffany Crawford, Destiny Crawford, Courtney Borden, and Zachary Lott; nine great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley accepted Christ as her Savior early in her life and made a renewed commitment as an adult. She was a longtime and faithful member of Robinson AME Zion Church in Cheraw, SC, where she joyfully and dutifully served as a deaconess.

Shirley worked for several manufacturing companies during her life. Still, her most rewarding job was in her final years as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), a recognition she was so proud to attain. She loved working with those in need of essential medical and household assistance.

Shirley also loved her home, her farm, and its many animals, especially her donkey, Lee Jack.

The Homegoing Services will be on Saturday, August 6, 2022, 11:00am, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be at Westview Memorial Park, Highway 74-West, Wadesboro, North Carolina.

FACE MASK/COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED TO BE WORN.

I remember Shirley and her sisters being raised by Aunt Hester on T Timmons farm. Shirley was beautiful inside and out. She and Mama were good friends. I worked with Shirley at the Glenn Plant in Morven. It was a pleasure to see this beautiful lady everyday. I had no idea Shirley has passed, and I am truly sorry. Condolences to her entire family. Ladies like Shirley don't come along very often. Sincerely, Annie Canipe Hooker
