Erreese Lamont “Bookie” King, Jr., 33 years old, departed this life on Friday, July 15, 2022. He was born March 2, 1989 to the proud parents of Teleatha (Samuel) Jones and Erreese King, Sr. He was educated in Knox County Schools. Bookie was a free-spirited, young man who enjoyed life. He was always kind and respectful to his elders, taking great delight in spending time with his family, especially his mother as they shared a special bond. Hanging out with his brothers brought joy to him as well. Bookie was the nonchalant and easy-going brother. He never argued or disagreed much but was very protective of his siblings. He was a caring and loving father to his children. He brought an enormous smile to their faces when he entered the room. His children knew they were loved by him. He was a humble and generous young man that considered many in his circle family. This was evidenced by often referring to his friends as “cuz” and always ending his phone calls and text messages with “love you.”
Bookie was a fashion connoisseur known for sporting the latest styles and trends in urban fashion, hats, and shoes. He was an originator of SWAG, often sporting the latest Jordans and his favorite color navy blue. He had finesse and a gravitating personality that radiated confidence and self-assurance to which all who knew him found lovable.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Willie and Louise King, Pole Nelson and Michelle Benn, Willie Clark; great-grandparents, Garnet and Willie Sue Samuel; brother, Jamodd “Tinky” Mack; cousin, J’Marcus “Man Man” Samuel; and great-aunt, Cleo McIntosh.
