Obituary For Mr. Alvin Tyrone White

Funeral services for Mr. Alvin Tyrone White, 70, of 231 Dalehurst Drive, Holly Hill, SC, will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Simmons Funeral Home of Santee Chapel, 8824 Old # 6 Highway, Santee, with interment to follow in Dantzler Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Mary A. Keitt is officiating.

A Time to Be Born .... Alvin Tyrone White, son of Willie Ervin & Mary Ensley White, was born on December 30, 1951 in Belhaven, NC.

A Time to Die .... On Monday evening, July 25,2022, The Lord saw the road was getting rough and the hills were getting hard to climb, so he sent the heavenly angels to take our beloved Alvin home.

A Time to Live .... Alvin, affectionally known as Al, Uncle Al or Stroker, attended Beaufort County Schools, where he was a member of the John A. Wilkinson Class (JAW) of 1970. He attended Weaver Airline School in Kansas City, Mo. In the Mid 1970s, Alvin moved to South Norwalk CT, and began working with his good friend, William Marshall, for 17 years with Marshall Cleaning Services in Norwalk, CT. On July 6, 1996, he married Martha Jefferson in Holly Hill, SC. In 2010, Al & Martha moved to Holly Hill, SC.

His Favorite Activity Alvin loved his family. He enjoyed spending time with his family in NC, listening to music, and hanging out in the Man Cave! He also kept in close contact with many of his classmates from the JAW Class of 1970, making his daily calls to his brothers and enjoyed making sure his Babyboys, Devin & Kayden, and his Babygirl, Kammie, were being good!

His Legacy .... Alvin was preceded in death by his parents: Ervin, Sr & Mary; son, Aljoseph Ward; mother-in-law, Annie L. Jefferson; and sister-in-law, Rosa White. Alvin was also preceded in death by his cousin reared as a sister on July 2, 2022, Gerlian Greene.

Alvin leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Mrs. Martha Jefferson White of the home; three daughters: Renee and Maria Greene of Winterville, NC and Altina Jones (Nate) of Columbia, SC; two grandsons: Devin Tyrone Greene of Winterville, NC and Kaden Thomas of Columbia, SC; three granddaughters: Tiana Jones, Naudia Thomas, and Naryia Thomas all of Columbia, SC; one brother, Ervin White of Belhaven, NC; two nieces: Kimberly White of Winterville, NC and Keemah White, of Belhaven, NC; one great niece, Kammie White of Raleigh, NC; four cousins reared as brothers and sisters: Donald Ensley (Ramona) of Greenville, NC, Steven Barber (Vernelette) of Washington NC, Constance Barber of South Norwalk, CT and Christopher Barber (Brenda) of Orangeburg, SC; two brothers- in- law: Harry L Jefferson and James Jefferson; one sister-in-law, Barbara Hilliard (Raymond), all of Holly Hill, SC; one nephew, Derrick Brown (Natosha) of Fort Worth, Texas; two nieces: Kathlanna Brown (Trennis) of Holly Hill, SC and Sherita Shuler of Bowman, SC; great nieces and nephews: Kelvaisha, Reylin, Kayden, N'dea, and Deja; one special friend, Gerald Keitt, of Norwalk, CT; three bonus daughters: Tica Reed, Virgie Reed and Cheryl Bookhart, all of Norwalk, CT; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 29, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. -6:00 p.m., at Simmons Funeral Home of Santee.

Family and friends may visit the residence of his wife, Mrs. Martha White, 231 Dalehurst Drive, Holly Hill or Simmons Funeral Home of Santee, SC.
