Jennie Lou Tune Ensey passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 in Bowie, TX

Funeral service will be 10 am Saturday, July 23, 2022 in the chapel at White Family Funeral Home in Bowie with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Jennie was born on January 14, 1929 to Sam and Olga Tune in Big Sandy, TX where she grew up and graduated from high school early at the age of 16. She then went on to attend The University of North Texas, receiving her bachelor's degree at the age of 19. Jennie was the librarian at Stephenville High School and Bowie Junior High where she worked for 23 years before retiring in 1992.

Jennie met the love of her life, Harold Ensey and they were married January 11, 1953. During their marriage they had three children, Ken, Karen, and Kathy and lived in various places throughout Texas before settling in Bowie in 1965. After retirement, Jennie and Harold spent most of their time traveling, visiting all 50 state and multiple countries, always making time for a round of golf. Jennie had a great love for genealogy and enjoyed researching her family roots. She was a member of Carter Lake Road Church of Christ.

Jennie is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Olga Tune; husband, Harold Ensey; son, Kenneth Ensey; daughter-in-law, Renee Laird Ensey; and one brother-in-law Joe Curry.

Jennie is survived by her daughters, Karen Ensey King and husband Mickey of Bowie, Kathryn Ensey Tyson and husband Billy of Bellevue; sister, Mary Tune Evans of Bowie; sister-in-law, Betty Ensey Curry of Bowie; brother-in-law, Jerry Ensey and wife Roffie of Willis; grandsons, Gary Ensey of Bowie, Jason Ratliff and wife Brandy of Bowie, Erik King and wife Morgan of Bowie; granddaughters, Stephanie Tyson McCugh and husband David of Bowie, Leigh Ann Tyson Darneal and huband Jay of Houston; eight great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers you may donate to the library of your choice.
