MR. FRED HERBERT HITE, SR, son of the late Jessie J. Hite and Inez Hicks Hite was born July 23, 1932 and on Monday, July 11, 2022 our Lord and Savior decided it was time for him to come home. Also preceded him in death was his four brothers- Jesse, James, Lewis and Cary; two sisters- Florence and Ruby; great-grandsons- Darius Hubbard and Jarriel Hinton.

At an early age he was baptized and joined Amity Baptist Church, South Hill, VA.

He attended and graduated from M. M. Booger School, LaCrosse, VA.

At the age of 19 on May 13, 1952 he enlisted in the U.S. Airforce where he was assigned to Perrin Airforce Base in Texas and served during the Korean War. Fred was honorably discharged on January 25, 1956.

Fred was employed by New England Tank Liner as an oil tank mechanic for many years until his retirement. He also owned a Fish Market for many years.

In 1974 he met the special lady of his life Florence Howell, who brought him the most joy in his life and who cared for him until the end.

Fred loved hanging out in his cubby hole, working on his rods and reels and crafting his own special fishing weights. He loved being on the water catching fish. He also enjoyed hunting, raising his garden and caring for his animals.

Fred was loved by all who came to know him. He was family oriented and always wore a smile and had a good joke to tell.
