Ralph Pryor

Mr. Ralph James “Butch” Pryor transitioned from this life to his eternal home on Friday, June 17, 2022 in Shelby, NC. He was born on October 21, 1949 in Cleveland County, to the late Ralph Lee Pryor and Sadie Mae Surratt Pryor.

Ralph graduated from Burns High School in 1969. He tried his hand at several different occupations before finding the occupation that he was truly most passionate about which was working with the North Carolina Department of Transportation where he retired after 32 years of service. He also loved working outside and enjoyed selling items out of the family gardens.

Ralph was a member of Ramseur Baptist Church. He loved his family and especially enjoyed the monthly get togethers that brought them together for good eating, laughter and reminiscingabout good times. In his spare time, he enjoyed his daily time that he spent at the neighborhood gas station and the brotherly bond that he developed with the other gentleman there.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Larry Lee Pryor, Bobby Lee Pryor and Frandlin Meeks and a grandson, Stanley Maurice Pryor, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 52 years, Ann Fuller Pryor; a son, Stanley Pryor; daughter- Jessica Pryor; step-son, Steve Fuller all of Shelby; sisters, Joann Pryor McCoy of Cincinatti, OH, Carolyn Pryor Powell of Charlotte, NC, Helen Meeks (Tony) of Cincinnati, OH, Linda Meeks of Virginia Beach,VA, Nevadaer Pryor, Evelina Hamrick (Darryl) both of Shelby; brothers, Charles Pryor of Detroit MI, Roger Meeks (Wyoming) of Cherryville, NC, Raymond Pryor of Concord, NC, Craymond Pryor (Betty) ,Anthony Pryor and Dontray Cumberlander all of Shelby; five grandchildren, Skyler Swint (Antwan), Terran Brooks (Xeveia), Deandre Brewton, Tiara Pryor and Alfredia Dawson; nine great-grandchildren; four aunts, Ruth Pryor, Cecilia Johnson, Ruby Surratt and Pauline Pryor; four sisters-in-law, Sadie Pryor, Martha Fuller, Delcie Hamilton (T.J.) and Elizabeth Fuller; a brother-in-law, Larry Fuller (Yvette) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Ramseur Baptist Church. Burial will take place at the church cemetery. Livestreaming of the service will begin at 2:45 PM from Enloe Mortuary’s Facebook page. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:00 PM at the church.
