Windell Oliver McIntosh, age 79, transitioned home peacefully on June 10, 2022 after a long illness at his home in Ellenwood Georgia. Windell was born on May 1, 1943 in Strawberry, Westmoreland, Jamaica, West Indies to Clement and Edith (née Johnson) McIntosh. He was a graduate of Strawberry Primary School. On December 24, 1967 Windell married his long-time childhood sweetheart Pamela “Pam” (nee Stewart) and that union produced their three children Rosemarie, Howard and David. After working in Kingston with the Postal Service, Windell immigrated to the United States in 1975 and joined his wife Pam. They settled in Brooklyn, NY and together they worked to make a better life for their family and to educate their children. Windell prioritized the education of his children, he would leave daily assignments in mathematics, reading comprehension and current affairs. Woah to the child who did not complete said tasks as “beat first, ask questions later “was his motto. His tough parenting style would be appreciated by his offspring in later years as they instilled a level of discipline and grit that would serve them well in the real world. Upon arriving in the US, Windell obtained employment at Pens n Things Stationary Supply. He worked in the warehouse for over 20 years as he was a font of knowledge on all items the company offered and was a mentor to many new immigrants. In Jamaica and also in the US Windell was a well-loved and popular friend to many. His quick wit and love of life drew many to him. In the year 2000, Windell decided to return to Jamaica to assist his son Howie in his auto parts business. He was instrumental in guiding his son to success. Windell was referred to as “UNCLE “by employees and customers alike for behind his sharp tongue was always a smile and mentoring words. In later years he returned to the US to be with his wife and unfortunately his health began to deteriorate. His wife Pam provided loving and devoted care to him until his last days. Windell is survived by his wife Pam, daughter Rosemarie Campbell (nee McIntosh), son Howard, son David, son-in-law Roy, daughter –in-law Edawne, grandchildren, Janaye Campbell, Allysa Campbell, Jade Campbell, Julian McIntosh, Leah McIntosh, brother Winston McIntosh, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and many friends. May God rest his soul
