John Blair

John Blair was born on August 23, 1949 to John and Anna Blair, Sr. in Montgomery, AL. After graduating from high school, he was recruited to play basketball for LeMoyne-Owen College and later transferred to Eastern Michigan University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. After graduation, a professional opportunity took him to Georgia where he remained for the rest of his life. His aspirations eventually lead him to a career in real estate, which allowed him the flexibility to be a full-time dad. John was a force of nature, determined to give his children the tools for success in life and was unendingly proud of each of their accomplishments. Throughout life, John demonstrated the importance of hard work and sacrifice, and he faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage. He was a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Incorporated, was passionate about jazz music, and actively shared his words of wisdom on social media. John was predeceased by: his parents, John and Anna Blair, Sr., sisters: Joan Blair Carlisle and Johnnie Mae Blair, and his wife, Patricia Milner Blair. He is survived by: his children, Ayana Olomajeye (David), Jene' Stephens (Orlando), John Patrick, Andrew Wesley, and Christopher Alan. He also leaves behind grandchildren: Ava Joy Olomajeye and Joseph Frederick Olomajeye; an aunt, Flossie Vandiver; a cousin, Hazel Lee; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. To honor John's memory, a celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Home.
