Jesse Jones, also known as Uncle Joe, departed this life on Saturday morning, June 4, 2022 at the Home of Ms. Helen Jewel Coley of Cecil, Georgia. He was born May 18, 1933 to the late Richard Jones, Sr. and Emmaline (Young) Jones in Birmingham, Alabama. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and spent many years as an Independent Contractor and Teacher. Uncle Joe always had a zest for learning and studying new things. You would often find him with a book in his hand. He had a wicked sense of humor and could always make you laugh. He kept that sense of humor to the very end. He was preceded in death by his two brothers Richard Jones, Jr and Roosevelt Jones. And one sister Louise Jones. He leaves to cherish his memory: three sons, Mark Jones of Birmingham, AL ,Gregory Jones (Allison) of Trussville, AL and Brian Jones of Alabaster, AL. Five Grandchildren, Myoushi Moody (Craig) of Trussville, AL, Marcus Jones of Prattville, AL, Richard Jones, Alexander Jones and Brianna Jones of Trussville, AL. And a great-grandchild; Jamarcus Jones of Prattville, AL. He also leaves sisters Amanda Brown of Valdosta, GA, Jacqueline Moore of Erwin, GA and brothers Robert Jones of California and Lunsford Jones (Geraldine) of Jacksonville, FL. Home going services for Mr. Jesse Jones will be held on Thursday, June 9, at 10:00 A. M. at the chapel of Scott and Roberts Mortuary with Rev. Norman Edwards, officiating.
