The book of life for Bruno Peter Koenig, known to everyone as “Chef,” was opened on January 21, 1954 in Heidelberg, Germany to the late Gertrude Schmitt and Bruno Koenig. He received his formal and basic education in Germany. Bruno was a unique and gentle man who was loved by all that came in contact with him. He was also a man of many talents and traits. Some of them included cooking, swimming, martial arts, breeding and training rottweilers, playing the organ, but most of all, spending time with his children and grandchildren. Bruno definitely lived up to the name “Chef.” He worked as chef at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center until he retired in 2011 and was noted for his work in the Hospitality Department for Florida Eastern Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. His presentation at the Bishop’s table was always impeccable. He was truly a master of his craft.

It was in 1994 that he met and married the love of his life, Cynthia Dennard, of whom he referred to as “Kitty.” This union lasted 28 years, 2 months, and 15 days until his death. Together they have nine God given children and ten grandchildren that he adored and gave Godly wisdom to. Bro. Bruno received salvation in 1997 and joined the church in 1998 and chose to run on to see what the end was going to be. To God be the glory!

The book of life was closed on May 15, 2022 for Bro. Bruno Peter Koenig. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruno Koenig and Gertrude Schmitt; maternal and paternal grandparents; brothers, Bernd Koenig and Harry Koenig; sister, Inge Campain; father-in-law; daughter, Phyllis Houston; favorite aunt, Delores “Aunt Lois” Cornelius; brother-in-law, Ellis Jerry Isham.

Left to cherish his memories are his devoted wife of 28 years, Missionary Cynthia “Kitty” Koenig; eight God given children, Wanda(Jan)Fuller, Alexis Duhart, Jalila Robinson, Nasira Wynn, Sydney Franklin, Henry Duhart, Matthew Yoder, and Camryn Robinson; grandchildren, Wieman Emilius, Jr., Zora S. Emilius, Malaki I. Emilius, Katalin C. Emilius, Gabrielle N. Emilius, Noach I. Emilius, Jani L. Fuller, Jr., Jai L. Fuller, Parys Spivey, Londyn Spivey; sisters, Brigitte(Brent)Bartlett and Gudrun Koenig; brothers-in-law, Geary J. Dennard, Leslie J. Ramsey, Arnold B.(Melanie)Ramsey, John D.(Stacey)Ramsey; sisters-in-law, Cheryl E.(Tom)Hawthorne and Katrice M. Isham; his adoring mother-in-law, Mother Mary “Mom” Ramsey; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, friends, and coworkers who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services for Bruno Koenig will convene on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire Church in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 12:00pm.
