BENNYE REASOR, a beloved teacher, civic leader, friend, and mother transitioned on March 28, 2022, in Atlanta, Georgia, with her children at her bedside. Bennye was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Joe D. Reasor, and is survived by her loving children, Joanne, Joseph, Jr., and Jonathan (Lisa); granddaughter Joya Janai, great-granddaughter Jordyn; and grandson and granddaughter Roderick and Lauren. Bennye Reasor touched the lives of many students during her tenure at Booker T. Washington High School and Trenholm State Technical College. She was a very active civic leader as a member of the Anna M. Duncan Club and the Montgomery Chapter of Jack & Jill of America, Inc. She was a devoted member of St Jude Catholic Church and the Alpha Rho Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. The body will be available for viewing at Ross-Clayton funeral home, Friday, April 8th from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. The Zeta Burial Ceremony will be Friday, April 8th at 6:00 pm, and is open to the public. The funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, April 9, 2022, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2048 W Fairview Avenue, Montgomery, AL 36108. Interment will immediately follow the funeral at Greenwood Cemetery, located at 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama, 36109. MASKS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED.
