OPELOUSAS – Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA for Mr. Clarence Collins, affectionately known by his family and friends as “Pop”, 77, who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.

Fr. Lambert Lein, S.V.D. pastor of Holy Ghost Catholic Church will be officiating the funeral mass.

Mr. Collins’ memories are being cherished by: his daughter, Sharon Collins Richard of Opelousas, LA; his two sons, Calvin G. Collins and Marco E Thomas-Collins, both of Opelousas, LA; one sister, Lucille Jones of Opelousas, LA; three grandchildren, Candace Richard, John Richard, and Marshayla Richard, all of Opelousas, LA; three great grandchildren, Madison Richard, London Jackson, and Kaison Richard, all of Opelousas, LA; his lifetime friend, Joyce Thomas of Opelousas, LA; he also raised as his own, Tracy Thomas Pomier, James Thomas Jr., Jennifer Thomas, Crystal Thomas and Javon Thomas, all of Opelousas, LA and Elizabeth Thomas Albert of Texas.

He is preceded in death by: his wife, Wilma C Collins; his parents, Felix and Alice Brown Collins; one son, Kelvin Collins; five brothers, Joseph E. Collins, Leroy Collins, Walter Collins, Peter Castille and Richard Castille; and five sisters, Lillian Williams, Gustavia Bowers, Shirley Mitchell, Willie Weston and Clara Tyler.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 p.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA.
