Obituary For Ms. Ruby Lee Brown

Graveside services for Mrs. Ruby Lee Brown, 82, of Jamaica, NY, will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2022, at Andrew Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, 559 Big Buck Blvd., Orangeburg, with interment to follow. The Rev. Dr. Donald E. Greene, Jr., is officiating.

Ruby Lee Brown, daughter of the late Curtis and Albertha Brown, was born on May 6, 1939, in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She entered into eternal rest on March 12, 2022, at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Jamaica, New York following a brief illness.

She received her education in the public schools of Orangeburg County. Ruby was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness of Jamaica, New York. She worked in the domesticated sector in New York.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Frizell Miller, Gladys Shivers, Essie Mae Jamison; and brothers, Curtis Brown Jr. and Eugene Brown

Ruby leaves to cherish her fond memories, her daughter, Linda (Alexander) Moorer of Orangeburg, SC; sister, Edna Bowman of Brooklyn, NY; two brothers: Willie Brown, and Carl Brown both of Orangeburg, SC; two grandchildren: Vincent (Deirdre) Moorer of Lexington, SC and Denika Moorer of Orangeburg, SC; four great grandchildren: NyQuita Charles, and Khai McDuffie both of Orangeburg, SC; Vincent A. Moorer, Genesis Moorer , both of Lexington, SC; two special sisters: Yvonne Glover and Sylvia Davis both of Queens, NY; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2022, 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
