He was educated in the Anson County school system and was a graduate of Bowman Senior High School, Class of 1973. He furthered his education at Kittrell College where he earned an Associates of Science in May of 1975. He also served in the United States Army from which he was honorably discharged.
He was employed by the State of North Carolina Department of Transportation and retired from this position after 30 years of service.
He was a faithful member of Parsons Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he was awarded for serving on the Trustee Board.
Kenneth had a passion for weightlifting and body building. Aside from body building, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He spent much of his leisure time traveling and seeing the world. Kenneth was known for his ability to make others laugh and his quick wit. He was also known to be very practical and methodical in all that he did. Kenneth was also very compassionate and loved sharing his knowledge and helping anyone in need.
Kenneth Bennett departed this life on Saturday March 5, 2022 in his home. He was preceded in death by his father, James Tyler Bennett, his mother, Elillian Bennett, and one brother Orlando Bennett.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his lovely and devoted wife of 44 years, Sarah Cash Bennett; his two children, Jeffrey Bennett (Stephanie) and Angel Bennett (Phadonya); five grandchildren: Morissa Bennett, Jaserah Bennett, India Busch, Aaliyah Bennett and Jamarcus Bennett; two great grandchildren: Jayceon and Jalissa Bennett; two brothers, Jackie Bennett of Fayetteville, NC and Reverend Marvin Bennett of Lilesville, NC; three sisters, Maxine Bennett of Rockingham, NC, Pamela Patterson (Frank) of Lilesville, NC, and Melanie Little (Tony) of Wadesboro, NC; two brothers-in-law, Sherman Cash (Dr. Lisa Bracey Cash) and Samuel Cash (Dr. Lola Cash); three sisters-in-law: Polly Wilson (Wilbur), Beatrice Sellers (Wayne) and Robin Bennett. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Special Friends: Andrew Gatewood, Charles Wall a.k.a Uncle C.W., Johnny Arnette, Donald and Joyce Baucom, Dick Vaughan.
The Homegoing Services will be on Thursday, March 10, 2022, Parsons Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 598 Parsons Grove Road, Lilesville, NC. Interment will follow in the Bennett Family Plot at the church cemetery.
